Description

Homid:~Adri stands tall and proud, for being what appears to be a member of an often-repressed people -- Thai, by the looks of skin pigment and other minutia only anthropologists might discern. He is a young-seeming gentleman in his early 20s and of a large, well-muscled build and tone. Dressed in simple slacks, shoes, and a sunny yellow, long-sleeved silk shirt, he seems to be at least somewhat refined despite the rural nature of many Southeast Asians. His black hair is cut short, sometimes well-styled and groomed, other times a mess. An air of sheer mystical power throbs around him, that driving force behind his will to live and to fight. His gently crafted features are youthful yet still manly. A pair of dark-brown eyes flicker above a strong nose and curled lips. He carries a simple laundry bag, probably containing his only possessions. Adri virtually glows with the magnitude of his primal ferocity and essence: a testament to a Zhong Lung hero reborn.~

OOC: Appearance 3; Pure Breed 1; Glory 10, Virtue 9, Wisdom 6

Archid: ~A creature of legends alone, so it was thought, Adri becomes a terrifying shadow of the Dragon Kings of eld. All elements that were Man vanish save for the clever glint in the golden, nictated, reptilian eyes. Twenty-three yards in length and almost three-and-a-half tons, this immense lizard bears flashing claws easily capable of rending even a mighty Garou in half, and a huge maw full of dagger-like fangs, though it's evident chewing is hardly required except in the case of elephants. As if this mighty offense was not enough persuasion to daring foes, every scale and scute flashes iridescently in blues, greens, yellows, reds, and blacks. The serpentine body writhes with perfectly smooth motions, the muscular tail swinging for balance, but possessing an agility all its own: a weapon all its own, with the razor sharp edges on its tip. A great mane of black fur crowns the draconian skull, and beneath the Middle Dragon's snout glows a large, mystical orb. This pearl seems to possess the wrath of Dragon himself, and inflames with preternatural fire as readily as the Rage of its owner. Still, despite this awe-inspiring, horrifying form, the Zhong Lung before those present possesses a wizened look to its overall visage. The winds of the south and the east blow for this ancient denizen, the breath of life, of Yang, in his every step and word. It would be wise to heed his wishes, however they are spoken, when he has assumed this legendary birthright.~

OOC: Appearance 0; Pure Breed 1; Full Delirium; Dragon Masque, Fiery Pearl; Glory 10, Virtue 9, Wisdom 6

Dracos: ~Dark-green and brown ridges and scales of a saurian some ten feet in length, this crocodile evokes terrifying tales of river predators. Sharp teeth line this croc's long snout, aimed at tearing and shearing the victim's flesh, often after said victim has been sensibly dragged into the murky water and drowned. Faster than he normally looks to be, this reptile is quite capable of teaching other animals of why the crocodile and alligator are two of the oldest existing species on the planet. Though seemingly placid and content in the mud, the beast's eyes boast a cunning, terrible awareness, enough to frighten away the bravest wranglers.~

OOC: Appearance 3 (to other crocodiles, at least!); Pure Breed 1; Glory 10, Virtue 9, Wisdom 6

"Harmony is a state of being. If you do not seek it, you will not be."

History

Youth

Adri Gan Khon was born in the Year of the Ox, 1985, in a tributary of the Irrawaddy River in Burma. He was not given this name til after the First Change, as he was born mugger crocodile, not man. Nevertheless, his contact with humanity began early on. He was raised in captivity as an exotic "pet" by one of the few but disgustingly wealthy Thailand families. This family in particular was rather decadent, and he was exposed as a hatchling and through his saurian adolescence to various depravities. Fortunately, he was never forced to participate. But they always occurred before his eyes. As months went back, at the mere age of two, Adri began to dream. The perversion he witnessed jerked alive the Dragon sleeping inside. He remembered the past, as far back as the Third Age. He remembered the glorious days of basking in the sun, His golden heat unchallenged by clever humans in those days. He remembered the rousing calls to battle, and the terror his mighty roars, golden eyes, and flashing talons rent upon the armies of Yomi. He remembered routing the Yama Kings themselves and chasing them back to their Hells with his brethren, and there he perished.

However, his glory was not forgotten, and the Emerald Mother took his soul away from the hateful claws of the demons (those that survived the massive draconian assault, that is). He recalled how he was reborn Age after Age, his lessons learned. His might and wisdom had often been heralded throughout the Beast-Courts, and his natural, primal purity envied -- envied not because he was purely primal, but because he could balance it with wisdom and patience (a lesson many have to learn). In many eras, he was a teacher among the hengeyokai and guardian of the Dragon Nests, throughout Zhongguo, and he would often live centuries before dying an old man's death, unconquerable by Yomi. In the wars of the Third Age, he was remembered as Breath-of-Wani, and his fire and lightning smote legions of demons. In the Han Dynasty, he was known as Bolt-of-Heaven, and rained devastating thunder and lightning on all who displeased the gods, while bringing good weather and keeping the people of his land in good health. In the later T'ang period, he was heralded as Hammer-of-Balance, and struck down and devoured many corrupt Wan Kuei.

First Change & Mentorship

Whoever he was, the righteous Rage always burned strong in his breast. It was then his reptilian eyes opened to the waking, modern world and saw what was happening. That perversion did finally extend to the ponds in which he inhabited, resulting in the tortured death of a clutchmate (perhaps Kin). And Adri Raged. The keepers fell to the sudden and terrible Middle Dragon that slaughtered everyone who dared face him.

Before authorities (or other shen) could step in to intervene, the clever Kin of the Samutpraken Crocodile Farm made their move. It was all the government could do to avoid what appeared to be a mere case of a rabid animal becoming a worldwide spectacle of animal abuse. As a result, the "pet" crocodiles were rescued and the Middle Dragon among them as well. Adri Gan Khon was brought among his people for the first time in hundreds of years. Hundreds of years his ancient soul had been sleeping, he realized! The Spring-born Dracos was given onto the old and wise Pei Tung, Breaks-The-Riddle, for education. From he, Adri learned the ancient ways of the Zhong Lung and hengeyokai, as well as every dirty trick in the old Dragon's combat repertoire. Dragon-magic was also strong with the new werecrocodile, and he learned Gifts swiftly. He was given the human name Adri Gan Khon as his saurian appellation was unpronounceable to humans.

He found his new dreams were haunting reminders of the Fourth and Fifth Ages, much of which he missed (at least as Trueborn...). He saw the mass graves of the bloody wars that shook the jungles of Southeast Asia. He witnessed the tyranny that ran rampant among the shen and humans alike throughout Zhongguo. He knew the mass murder that was taking place. It was during his initial months of training that he began to remember a distinct link to an even more antiquated horror: the War of Rage and the War of Shame. Both occurred in the days Adri was awake, and he remembered them with intense sentiment. He often retreated into a cool pond and dwelled on the dark reminders of past folly. The Okuma were gone, alas, but he curiously remembered most clearly the extinction of the Banfa -- called Camazotz among the Sunset People. The werebats were slaughtered in the first War of Rage and perished entirely in the War of Shame. The elders believed Adri's link to the Banfa derived from a past Anamnesis coming now into play. What the Emerald Mother desires for Adri, with these memories, is still unknown both to he and his elders. For the memories, he was given the title Knows-The-Graves.

Rank One

But Knows-The-Graves knew what these memories were for now -- they fueled his Rage, the righteous anger of the Dragon Kings themselves. Following the auspice of the Tung Chun, Knows-The-Graves filled new graves over the next decade. As both guardian and warrior, Adri crushed P'o-ruled Wan Kuei heralding from the Golden Courts. Their perversity attracted many demons, and were often as cruel as the demons themselves -- until Adri Raged upon Wu after Wu. The penangallan were forced to admit defeat in the region surrounding the Samutprakan Clutch, and retreated further east. During rare traversals of the Mirror Lands, Adri would use his immense, natural power to crush any Yomi he found. He is said to have slain a horde of Oni in the jungles one night, though he still insists he did not. Or at least, he does not remember doing so. Perhaps the Beast Within had its way that night, and the twisted goblins were convenient targets of uncontrolled Rage.

Rank Two

Whatever the case may have been, his Rage is not the only matter that has gotten the better of him. In righteous fury, he plucked a fang from one of the penangallan he devoured and dedicated it to his person as a reminder of the cost of unrestrained desire. It backfired, unknown to the Zhong Lung. The essence of life began to flow too strongly through him. His reputation plummeted and he was appended buaya. Although quite a fighter, the Samutprakan Clutch determined that keeping him around would inevitably result in a rise of Innocents. It was time he leapt into the arms of the East Wind and explored other lands. It was deemed he were to travel to the Americas. First, he would visit North America and become more accustomed to the Westerner ways. Also, he would join the multi-shen Court rumored there and bring it much honor for the hengeyokai. Furthermore, North America was a good staging point for the next step of his journey, since shen of all colors were flocking here for the Great Leap Outward -- a matter the Kuei-jin were not engaging in alone. From there, he would travel south, to the Amazon. There he might join the Mokolé-mbembe and other Changing Breeds in this most important battle. Furthermore, he would convene with his fellow saurians about his memories of the lost Camazotz, a Breed whose last stand against the conquistadores was here in the last War of Rage.

Recent Years

Until then, he relaxes in Kansas City. To date, this is one of the few cities in the Midwest with a presence of shen. He joined a multi-hengeyokai Sentai for the first time, taking up the place Fire-Talon of Fist within the Emerald Talons of the Sagacious Typhoon. At Twister's behest, Adri cast out that trophy fang of one of several penangallan he once devoured. At last, the curse of Yang imbalance was lifted and the threat of Innocents better relieved. Unfortunately, disharmony wrought the Court of Infinite Ages and things fell apart. Adri renewed his oath to the Emerald Mother, however, with the new Court of Bamboo Talons. Meanwhile, he encountered and properly mated with several honored Kinfolk who, by fate or decree, have joined Adri in Kansas City. His ancient glory and renown seem to once again be at threshold of revelation. Now, if only he could stop behaving like the bull he is...

Mnesis

Adri's Memory reaches back millennia. He can remember as far as the latter half of the Age of Legends, the Third Age. It is this prehistorical record that permits Adri to recall the legendary alliances between shen and the glorious battles against the Centipede and Yomi Wan. He also remembers more specific bits and pieces regarding the Impergium and the War of Rage. He can recall the downfall of the Camazotz in Asia. His knowledge of the Fourth Age is even clearer, and he gnashes his teeth with memory of the Wan Kuei's trickery and the War of Shame that saw the end of the werebats in the Middle Kingdom. Adri also knows of the Fifth Age, and it is this century's wars and conflicts -- those of both mortal and shen -- that inspire the Middle Dragon's rage so.

The politics and intrigue that led to many of these events lies beyond Adri's perception, who seems to access the Memory always from a Suchid's point-of-view. But he can perceive the events with a clarity few homid Mokolé can understand. He remembers wading in a pond polluted thickly with blood and gore. It was the dumping site for "eggheads" whose apparent intelligence was their reason for execution during the Khmer Rouge. He remembers the smell of brimstone and cold iron lashing across stone while his bony claws rent past the desperate counter-attacks of demons in Yomi Wan. He remembers the secure smiles and bold grins heroes gave when the shen came together to battle the wicked. He remembers the little things that all come together to make up the big things: he can see how the trees came together to make the forest.

Wallow

Adri belongs to the Emerald Heaven, a Zhong Lung and Makara Wallow attached to the Beast-Court of Bamboo Talons. It includes his elder, Regent Yamakita Mori, as well as Dalal Ghanam, Ravi Dattavalaram, and the Kinfolk of the area, including the chi'n ta, Jun Ng. Their purpose is simply to provide an environment appropiate to raising their family, through a decent home and sturdy (and quite powerful) protectors. A Citadel was risen in the Emerald Heaven's name, located in the Hirasaki Preserve, and hidden among the tall trees of the Midwest. Ox serves as the Wallow's totem.

Fetishes

Belly Stones (talens)
Gnosis: special
Origin: These ensorcelled stones are the results of the mystical Rite of the Stone. Adri has 3 Belly Stones on hand, and usually has one swallowed, ready for use. All 3 stones have 3 points of Gnosis stored within.
Description: Each stone is a perfectly round rock the size of Adri's fist. It's very hard to swallow, unless you can become a mugger crocodile like Adri can.
Effects: 1) channel stored Gnosis to temporary Strength levels
Activation: A Belly Stone must be swallowed, then concentrated upon. Once all Gnosis is spent, the stone dissolves.

Clear Water (talen)
Gnosis: 4
Origin: Adri acquired this talen from Hotaru in exchange for teaching the Doshi the Rite, Silence of the Oracles. He originally had three, but has used two since.
Description: It appears to be a 4-ounce, oval-shaped bottle filled with water so pure and sparkling it seems electrified.
Effects: 1) Cleanse any small body of water of pollution; 2) act as the Gift, Resist Toxin
Activation: To activate the talen, the water must simply be poured into a stream, lake, pond, creek, or river. Or, for Effect #2, the water must be drunk.

Dragon Skin
Level: 2
Gnosis: 4
Origin: The Dragon Skin was a gift from his Pei Tung mentor after his first Hide-Shedding. His own scales were used and the older Middle Dragon formed the fetish for him with a Sun-spirit.
Description: This Dragon Skin is comprised of his own iridescent scales, worked into a firm, sleeveless shirt of scale mail. It girds just below the waist, protecting the groin, and weighs around fifteen pounds.
Effects: 1) provide mystical, weightless armor
Activation: The Dragon Skin must simply be worn and its spirit's magic concentrated on to activate.

Scar Fetish
Level: 2
Gnosis: 4
Origin: Adri received his Scar Fetish back in Thailand as a special token of renown for his battle savvy and glory. It was also a going-away gift when he was (forced) to leave as a Wanderer due to his (since resolved) "Yang imbalance".
Description: The scar is a Zhong Lung kanji-rune blazed into the small of his back in gold lettering. The pictograph is the equivalent of "godspeed".
Effects: 1) add +1 Dexterity for the scene
Activation: Adri need only utter "godspeed" in the Dragon's Tongue.

Significant Other

While Adri has favored many mates over the years, few held his attention and devotion like Cai Shou. He met the young Wu Lung in 2003. Eager to fulfill each other's destinies, the pair mated properly. Their primal union developed into love. While Shou accepts that the bull may seek other mates, Adri did not even search for others since they met. Shou grew pregnant and gave birth in late 2004, on December 1st. She bore a daughter that was neither Trueborn or fulfilled the Wu Lung's Destiny. They nonetheless adore their first child together and named her Bei Hua. Together they will likely produce many more children in their search for restored glory. Their romance will likely deepen over the years to come. The destined child will come, even if Adri and Shou must mate a dozen times first!

Shou

Weakness
Insatiable

Adri Gan Khon loves his women. Granted, he's matured enough to stick with only a few special girls. But even so, he's often lost in his love and lust. He has the potential to regain his past glory, but has enough difficulty pulling himself away from his beautiful and enticing Kin.

Likelihood of Corruption

Average.

Adri's greatest danger in his anger. The pent-up Rage is strong enough to destroy his enemies, but also places him at greater risk to fall under the Thrall of the Wyrm. And of course, targeting his family is the easiest way to drive him into the darkest and wildest rages. Just don't be there when he flips.
